I have eaten more fish tacos at taco at Taco Nazo then I like to admit. The tacos are so freaking delicious. They melt in your mouth. The sauce is perfectly proportion and the fish is not drowning in the sauce (LOL). The shrimp cocktails are phenomenal and overloaded with shrimp. It's almost like there's a shrimp party in a cocktail glass. The beer is always ice cold and perfect to go with that fish tacos. Now you must try the roasted & seasoned chili peppers. They are absolutely to die for. The service is always great it is definitely not a five-star restaurant or steakhouse however they call your number you pick up your food and you eat it. The prices are very reasonable. all of the salsa at the salsa bar has always been delicious and fresh. If fish tacos are your thing I highly recommend you try a piece of heaven in La Habra.

The fish tacos are excellent!! Fresh fish, cabbage, tomatoes, & the REAL crema! The tacos are not greasy and they are full if flavor!! Feels good to eat real fish tacos like the ones down in Rosarito! Clean and friendly staff !!

Been coming here for years, first for the potato tacos, then the shrimp. Omg, the shrimp tacos are great. You have to eat them here cuz they lose their crunch if you take them home. The grilled shrimp tacos are good too. Good location right off Beach and they're open until 10 pm.

  • Peter Y.

Come here to get some delicious fish/shrimp tacos, you won't be disappointed! I've been coming here for almost 10 years and they taste always the same Fish tastes crispy outside and soft inside. It is fried perfectly mmmm The only down side is their price. It went up a lot Fish taco (5/5) Shrimp taco (5/5) Potato taco (4/5) a little too greasy for my taste Customer service (5/5) Price (3/5)

We eat here once a week since my daughter has BBall games at the HS down the street and every Thursday I can't wait to have dinner here ! I always get the 3 Pack Potato Tacos and look forward to it every week. It's hot, crispy and topped with cabbage & crema. They also come with a side of radish and the chili sprinkles with lemon pepper. Service is always fast and friendly. I just finished and can't wait to come back again !

  • Keith K.

Pretty good service overall, I've been coming here more recently. The cashiers are always nice, very friendly but sometimes when they are not there other workers just stares at you and leave without saying anything if anyones is coming or not. Anyways fish taco is the thing you need to get here!!! And shrimp taco!!! It's the best i've eaten so far!!!!

  • Alfred V.

If you like fish tacos and you never been here before, you gotta give this place a shot. In my opinion its the best fish tacos I've had. They also have shrimp tacos. They have a salsa bar and there is usually warm chile's/peppers available to complement your tacos. If you go with friends and/or family you are better off buying them by the dozen. You don't have to drive to baja, come here.

    (5)
  • Tabby M.

The fish tacos here are pretty good but they lose a star for service. I ordered a taco plate and a shrimp burrito. It took 23 minutes for my number to be called and when they call it you can barely hear it over all the music and tv blaring.

  • Miguel A.

We went to this place because it had pretty good reviews and yes there fish tacos are really good the cream they put on the tacos are super the cashier on the restaurant was extra nice she was very helpful gave me ideas what I might like which was helpful a friendly staff is always a plus Kristen freemen was my helper thanks for your friendly staff. The restrooms are horrible .

    (4)
  • Danny M.

Love the shrimp and fish tacos the only thing I order here. The chicken is also pretty good but the carne asada I thought was real dry. The peppers and open salsa bar are worth it they have some delicious salsas. If they rework that carne asada it'll probably be a perfect score

  • Aaron G.

Taco Nazo is pretty good. The only turn off is the blatant slave-driver who works the front desk. She's always there & always very rude to customers & employees. You won't find her NOT on her phone & you waiting to order won't get her off of it. I don't know her name but she's the one who comes & goes, often walking away for long periods of time. I'm pretty sure she's the "manager", but she's very rude. For identification purposes, she's the bossy, thick Hispanic bi-lingual female. The next time I go there, I won't tolerate her rude behavior. She's lucky that this area has LESS THAN DEPLORABLE restaurants to eat at otherwise I would never go back.

  • Kristen M.

The food was delicious! I ordered a chicken taco and a beef taco with chips and guac. on the side. This is real authentic Mexican food! I was 100% satisfied after my meal. Will definitely be going back for more. Yummm! It would also be good to mention that the facility was clean and the staff were very friendly.

  • Hitler G.

The only reason this place does not get 5 stars is due to the extremely long wait so if you come here be prepared for that. Fish tacos are great grilled chili's are spicy and awesome. Also had some tacos de papa very tasty authentic mexican food.

  • Elisa T.

I am not a Mexican food fan, but I like their fish tacos, I think it is the best fish taco in town.

    (4)
  • Raul B.

The online menu is not up do date when I came in to order. When I finally did decide what I was going to have, the staff informed me they're were all out. Not to mention the food quality was horrible and greasy as hell

My favorite spot for fish tacos and burritos. They are family owned with great food and service. I have been coming here for 20 years, never disappoints! There are other Taco Nazos around So. Cal that are equally good. There's another chain called Señor Bajas, which is basically the same. Authentic Ensenada style fish tacos.

  • Kenneth B.

El Taco Nazo, just browse the photos and you will get a terrific feel of what ETN is all about. They make one of the best Ensenada style tacos around and they're quickly becoming one of my favorite places to take the family. The tacos are slightly crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Nazo gets the perfect ratio of cabbage and white sauce. Garnished with a lightly seasoned grilled yellow pepper. They have an exceptional salsa bar which includes: fresh salsa, jalapenos and various hot sauces(El Yucateco, Tapatio, Cholula etc.) This place is exceptional for children. Great quesadilla, beans and rice. Two young children can easily split a quesadilla and any side as they are huge. -take CC- -beer- -great kid options- This place is a solid "don't miss;" a 4-star general.

Best fish and shrimp tacos. The shrimp cocktail was not that good especially for the price of the "large". Also hate that your order is never ready when you call it in always have to wait.

    (4)
  • Allison L.

If you are looking for fresh and tasty fish taco this is the place for you. Their fish tacos are delicious. I have also had the potato tacos which are also very yummy. Be warned that if you go here around lunch time and dinner there maybe a line or wait, but the food is worth it clearly because everyone wants to eat here.

    (4)
  • R S.

I love the shrimp ceviche it's awesome here! Best I have yet besides homemade highly recommend coming here for ceviche. We call ahead and our order is always ready. Everyone is super nice and the place is well kept clean. Highly recommend this location for fast quick and great customer service!

  • Matthew R.

Consistently one of the best fish taco places around. Ensenada style (with cream) and huge proportions keep me coming back. Their shrimp cocktails are large and full of shrimp. My wife loves their crispy Potato Tacos. One of the few places around that sells them. The quacamole is a little chunky with dices onions, and tomato, but it's not bad. ***This is new, but no parking on Harbor! Park in the lot.

  • Andrea A.

The craving for Mexican food led me to this place. Through the help of yelp, I saw that this place was famous for their fish tacos so that automatically attracted me. I ordered a shrimp taco and fish taco combo plate. The tacos were both really tasty. Being that I am a big fan of shrimp, I preferred the shrimp taco better. To me, it had a much bolder, yummier flavor (but still both really good). Beans and rice were really tasty as well. I will definitely return to this place when I have a craving for shrimp tacos! The only disappointments were: the agua de piña (refreshment) and salsa weren't the best. I like spice. Hope this was helpful! x

I came here during my lunch break and left really distressed the service was just mediocre, the wait time was almost twenty minutes even though they weren't that busy. I had to go and ask the cashier, Jacqueline, if I could just cancel my food and get a refund. She doesn't say ANYTHING, walks away, gives the girl on the line my ticket and then says it's coming out right now. Which also, how can there be five employees working back of house but only one person on the line? I wait another five minutes and FINALLY get my food at which the runner just throws at me. SERIOUSLY, Taco Nazo, it does not take thirty fucking minutes to scoop shrimp into a cup. The food was just whatever and it was overpriced for the portion they gave me. If you're going to eat here, make sure to have at least thirty minutes on hand and stick to the tacos

Bomb shrimp tacos... Fish is tasty as well.. So damn hungry now. Great tasty food. Affordable in price. What more could you ask for????

  • Christine K.

Fish tacos/burritos...yes! Tortas...yes! Potato tacos....hell yes! Huge grilled yellow pepper! Oh hell yes! Try the very green hot sauce in the bottle. I love that stuff. It takes a while for the order, but that just means they are really cooking your food. :)

Just ate here for the first time and I don't like it at all. I came because Taco Baja was closed!! Taco nazo burritos are smaller more expensive and there rice and beans suck. Way smaller portions and just the inside of the place is dirty needs cleaning that alone made me wanna turn around but I wanted my fish and shrimp burrito my lady got ceviche and she says it was good just not for that price and is was less portion. They forgot my salsa smh trust me when I say this that just 5mins away from TACO Nazo is another fish and shrimp spot called TACOS BAJA! Trust me and go there instead. Sorry to all the taco nazo lovers but your crazy if you prefer nazo over Baja. Js. To those who haven't tried Baja and is going to after reading this enjoy!

  • William M.

The fish tacos here are nicely prepared with quality fish and a good proportion of cabbage, tomatoes, and white sauce. They also make a very good bean & cheese burrito with flavorful beans that aren't too heavy and cheese that melts right in and doesn't overwhelm the beans. The tortilla is light, but still holds the filing well. There is a nice salsa bar with marinated carrots and a good selection of aguas frescas.

I love fish tacos especially from taco nazo ! I didn't know they were a bunch of restaurants everywhere. I always thought there was the one near West Covina. On my way to costco I saw them and was super excited. Def the place to go for some tacos. Wish they did taco Tuesday haha but it's still worth paying an extra dollar for it !

  • John P.

I suggest the fish and shrimp tacos, don't forget the chili gueritos.

  • Jennifer K.

Probably one of the best fish tacos I have ever had! The breaded fish is cooked perfectly, hot, and crispy. Perfect amount of sauce and lettuce/cabbage on your taco. Go to the side salsa area and get some of the roasted jalapenos/peppers, quite tasty and oozing with roasted delicious flavor (its nice if you come at the perfect time, right when they bring it out!). I need to come here again...its been too long

taco nazo fish tacos FTW!!! my mom and i got the 3 fish taco plate w/ rice and beans (for about $8, and it comes w/ a soft drink) and it was way more than enough. we also got the shrimp tostada...which we couldn't even eat since we were so full, but took it to my dad and he said it was delish! so the tacos: the batter is so light and crispy it was so yummy...mmmm i'm drooling just thinking about those light fluffy crispy fish tacos. one thing though...the fish to batter ratio...i wish there was a bit more fish! when i eat a fish taco i want to have big chunks of fish in my mouth...but overall best fish taco i had so far (i haven't been to california fish grill yet...i heard it's the best there, but i will have to wait and see) so if i enjoyed it so much why 4 stars? well...2 of the tacos came out plain which i loved, but the 3rd had a cream sauce on it...which i did not like. i wish they told me or it was written on the menu, because i did not enjoy that taco. when you're eating something already fried you don't want to have a mayo/cream on top of it...it makes you feel SO guilty. and i'm not a big fan of mayo/cream on my tacos. i like it w/ just onion cilantro lettuce and salsa. so you can enjoy the meat...or in this case fish. i will definitely come back, but this time will ask for no sauce! lol.

FISH TACOS! $1.65 FISH TACOS! FISH TACOS THAT RIVAL NORMITAS! I LOVE FISH TACOS! Bonus #1: With a fish taco comes a seasoned yellow pepper that is hot and so damn good. Adds to the value even more! Bonus #2: Salsa bar. Bonus #3: Beer. Bottles only. 4.5 stars. For some reason it always feels dirty inside. So go ahead, get out of your bubble and take a long drive up beach blvd. It's actually not that long - from HB it should take you about 20 minutes - and don't you always wonder what's beyond the 91fwy anyways?! There are fish tacos yonder! Damn good ones!

Taco Nazo is A-ok. Apparently they're well known for their fish tacos. Me and hubs stopped by to see what the fuss was all about. Prices are average, you can order a combo of 2 tacos, chips and a drink for about $6. I went random and ordered nachos ($5.99). The food is decent and tasty, portions are generous, it's baja style so expect cabbage and thousand island dressing with your fried fish taco. I liked everything I ate, the restaurant has a salsa bar, but you'll have to ask for the tastiest salsa they have behind the counter. I'll need to go back and try the carnes and pastors. For now, I'll rely on Taco Nazo to deliver some tasty fish tacos.

This is the third time I have had their food and regrettably I didn't take pictures this time around either! Sorry!! I was so hungry, I couldn't even think straight. Promise I will add photos next time! Sooooo, I must share my experience with you on El Taco Nazo. Fish taco was really good and fresh. The little peppers served with the meal is tastefully seasoned and grilled. Nice little spicy things! The potato tacos are perfect for kids who haven't acquired the taste bud for fish or carnitas or pollo tacos. But not just for kids! It is yummmy. Gotta try some of this when you visit. They also serve Menudo, I think on the weekend only. I didn't have any, but it looks really delicious. The refried beans is good! Like my husband said, "It tastes like how my grandma used to make them." Now that is good! They have all the good condiments too, like radishes, pickled carrots, salsa galore... I cannot wait until our next take out...

I started coming to this location when I moved to La Habra for school. In the beginning it was great with a freshly stocked, clean salsa bar and seasoned grilled peppers always readily available. Food overall is above average - I'd prefer these fish tacos to MY local rubios, which is literally a few blocks away. The fish batter is crispy, and personally, I've never had issues with the freshness of the fish. Sauce isn't too overwhelming and reminiscent of sweet tartar sauce as other chains. Recently, however things have changed. No longer do they leave the grilled, seasoned peppers out for patrons to help themselves - they give you a few with your order. Also, the salsa bar doesn't seem to be maintained as well as it used to be. Lately, things have been quite messy with salsa spilled about, and garnishes/salsa mixed with other garnishes, carrots everywhere etc... just no too appealing. What once was a 4* in my book now sits as a 3*. Should you go out of your way? No. But if you're passing through, why not? Hopefully they'll get their salsa bar back in order and give free reign of those awesome peppers!

Alot of hype and they back it up! Been hearing about, and driving by this place for years and i finally did it and i don't regret it. First impression was good , store looked clean and the lady who took my order was nice. Went in got 4 fish tacos and 1 shrimp (only because my girl loves shrimp) The salsa bar was fully stocked with lemons, spicy carrot pepper mix. Food came pretty quick and taste great, fish was light and flaky and the sauce was nice. The thing that i liked the most was the white roasted chile, man was that a good surprise. We really enjoyed the food alot but i can not give fried fish 5 stars but what a strong 4 stars this is. That chile is like candy i LOVE them. :-)

I'm not a HUGE fan of fish tacos, but I will eat it on occasion, especially when i'm with a group of people. This place has reallllllly good fish tacos...hands down. It's not overloaded with sauce, and the fish is pretty big. The salsa bar is decent, just wish their carrots weren't so hard!

love the tacos, but the price sucks. i will be coming here, but rarely for the fact i am not getting much value for my money.

The service was quite slow but the cashier was really nice and all smiley~ that was a plus food was awesome with price of Mickey D... and i'm sure it's more natural than any other fast food~ A+

The place- Clean, big, lots of seats, good selection of hot sauce, and fresh lemons!!! The service- the person seemed dazed. Like she just wasn't caring about us. She doesnt smile much or say hi. The food- These tacos are great! They are soft, with a nice crunch on the fish out side. It melts in your mouth of deliciousness. But they are pretty small, and the tortillas are a bit floppy. My advice, pack more spice, lightly cooked tortillas, and make them a bit larger.

Awesome Ensenada-style Fish Tacos!! I never had fish tacos before I ate here, but what a great introduction! Taco Nazo is an incredible place for affordable eats -- fish and shrimp tacos are their specialty, but they also offer regular meat tacos. Their fish and shrimp burritos are equally good. Excellent cream sauce/dressing and reasonable (though not large) pieces of fish and shrimp. Prices aren't what they used to be -- they've raised their prices over the past couple years, which is a bummer. (Blame it on inflation and a captive consumer base!) However, it's still a good deal especially if you're trying to feed several hungry mouths. Their roasted chiles are an awesome complement to their food ... ask for a few extra! Recommendation: Buy the multi-pack taco kits. Easily deserving of 4+ stars ... not quite 5 stars due to increased prices.

Okay.....I will admit I may not be the right person to be making claims when it comes to fish tacos....as I do not eat them all that often....however, I have had a few pretty good fish tacos in mexico, san diego, and even nearby........I have even made claims of finding the best fish tacos in the OC in past reviews....... Guess I was wrong..haha taco nazo simply blew em all away...with a beautiful keep it simple taco that was served piping hot, lightly battered, served with cabbage, crema, and a pico de gallo salsa.... just all around perfect......cheap too (yeah, the taco is kinda small, but the taste sure comes thru)....what more could ya ask for???....other than more fish tacos anyway, (shrimp taco was delicious too as I was able to score a bite) This is now my current best fish taco joint around-haha guess the ceviche is next, or the shrimp coctel.........tho I'm always down to try any others if you have suggestions....credible ones that is!

Well I have been a taco nazo patron since 2005 when I was still in high school. Anytime I want a fish taco I would come here. But recently I have noticed that this particular taco nazo has been cutting corners like skimping on the salsa bar. The reason I came here over a place like Rubios is because it felt like a family run small business that paid special attention to little details and gave customers quality product. Last time I visited (which was yesterday) the salsa bar was terrible; only two kinds of salsa and one of them was more water than tomato. They don't offer chopped cilantro and onions anymore which is a joke and they took away the awesome chile platter! Now you have to pay $1.20 for each chili. All in all, it's still a great place for fish tacos but I feel like they are trying to go all corporate and increase their bottom line at the cost of quality; especially the salsa bar. (I realize for some, the salsa bar may not be a deal breaker, but for me the salsa bar is a very unforgettable part of a mexican restaurant.)

This is my favorite place to get fish tacos. They're fried to a golden crisp on the outside and soft and succulent inside. It really doesn't get any better than this. I'd also recommend the tortas. They're delicious and underrated at this place. I'd say the only downside to this restaurant is that the horchata can be questionable or watery at times. I may seem pompous in saying this but I really do have a great palate for Mexican food, and this is one of my favorite places to go to. Trust me on this.

Great Mexican food. Went here on Small Business Saturday. Bought $20 of food for free. I was shocked at how hard it was to reach $20 too! That means their pricing is on the low end and will bring me back. I highly recommend it. Their tacos are great. I tried their fried potato taco. I was surprised at how good that was!

Apparently the best fish tacos in the world.. I don't know about best in the world but pretty darn good. My 2 main gripes was that the wait was a little longer than I expected and the prices were much higher than I anticipated. While the food was great the pricing is too much of a turn off for me and I probably won't be visiting Taco Nazo anytime soon.

After shopping at Costco today, was in the mood for fish tacos. Instead of going to Baja Tacos, the wife and I decided to try El Taco Nazo. I had gone here before, at least a year ago. Needless to say, it was disappointing. The fish size appeared large, however the tortilla was small. Also, I thought the fish had too much batter. Taste of the fish was ok, but the batter was doughy. The major complaint was the apparent use of old oil. Didn't have a clean taste. Also their chips tasted a little fishy, and a aftertaste of old oil. Good service, clean restaurant, easy parking, nice salsa bar, plenty of hot sauce (tapatio). However, going back to Baja Taco.

OMGosh!! The BEST Fish Tacos N. of the border. I was speaking to a lady at eye doctor's and she told me about this place. I didn't think much of it until later when Costco opened up and I pointed it out to my husband. Man was she ever right!! So, good!! Batter texture was done right and not two oily w/the prefect dressing cabbage mixture. So, delicious!! Normally, have a combo #2? 2 fish tacos and drink w/chips for $5.49? I know if 2 tacos fish & carne asada w/ drink & chips is not much more at $5.99. Carne Asada is favorful too. But, my absolute favorite is the grilled chili peppers. So, delicious!! It's free under the need to changed plastic cake cover at the salsa bar. They go FAST!! Especially, when they are freshly made. I can eat 8-10 of those!! The salsa is so-so. But I like the whole radishes and being able to add on onions and cilantro. Shrimp Tostada is good too. I haven't tried the Ceviche, but it looks good. I'm happy eating a taco and the peppers! Be warned, the place is old. Very dated. It doesn't have that clean feeling sometimes. I would rank it higher if they remodeled and got newer furniture. My favorite place for Friday Lent Meals! Also, very friendly staff.

Yes I am a fan, the food was good. But check your receipt BEFORE you pay! I didn't look at my receipt until I got my food at which point I realized I had been OVER CHARGED and they wouldn't do anything about it. What really gets me is that I got what I ordered but paid for much more. Hmmmm, seems kind of odd that you ring up one item but give another. Mad at myself and super irritated with the thought there was more to this than just a simple error.

Not a bad place to get your taco fix, but I found the prices to be a little too steep for the size of the tacos you get here. I certainly have be fuller on more tacos and with less money at other taco joints.

Went here on a recommendation from a coworker, ordered their fish tacos, and I was sold. Never going back to Alberto's or Molcasalsa unless I'm craving a chorizo at 2 am in the morning.

I've been here a couple times and think the fish tacos are great. The crispiness comes through the toppings, and with a little squeeze of lime, it's hard to beat and, yes, I'd venture to say bigger and better than Rubio's. They also put out these seasoned yellow bell peppers that are good munchers since the chips aren't free. On a recent trip, my boyfriend and I brought along a couple of his German relatives who'd never had fish tacos. As we predicted, they scarfed them and were very happy with the taste. It's a great small establishment and I'd recommend to anyone looking for a good fish taco!

Oh man, I'm so glad I found this place through Chowhound. I was expecting a lot when I went, and they delivered. There were two big chunks of the fried fish ( I hate it when places skimp!) and the shrimp were pretty big too. The salsa had a good kick to it - not too spicy but just perfect on top of these tacos. I'm giving four stars because since it was our first time, we didn't know where to pick up the food. Just sat down and got caught up in conversation. After ten minutes or so, we start getting antsy and find out our food has been out for awhile. Seeing as to how there were only three other patrons, surely they had the time to tell us.

Taste - 4 stars (yummy) Cleanliness - 3 stars (crowded & unclean) Location - 5 stars (easy to get to and easy to find parking) Service - 2 stars (rude) I'll give them credit --- the fish tacos are deeeeee-lish and for 6 @ $9.99 it's a bargain, but I must've visited on the wrong day and time (Friday @ 6:30ish during Lent) because the line was nearly out the door and the service was just plain RUDE!! Don't order the shrimp cocktail --- it was $7 for a small and I've had much better elsewhere. Great place to go if you're a catholic during lent, but call the order in and eat at home --- especially during peak hours. :| ehh.

Picked up dinner last night...hubby ordered fish tacos, I ordered the carne asada burrito...also ordered chicken quesadilla for to share...burrito was dry...but the quesadilla was fairly good. Fish taco ws ok according to my hubby, negative one star due to sanitary issues...found a strand of hair in the salsa...pretty grossed out...didn't get to finish my food...

Shrimp tacos and shrimp ceviche are so good. I have also ordered fish tacos and papa tacos...very tasty. This place has been around for years for good reason. This is fast food.

I was always disappointed when I wanted hole mole when i wasn't around long beach (the whittier location seems to always be under renovations). Well Taco Nazo has the same theme, colors, food, etc. Even the whole hecho en Taco nazo is the same. I don't know which came first and honestly, it doesnt matter. Trying to decide which is better is trying to decide between Nick Nolte and Gary Busey. Although, they do have a key you need for the rest room. I don't like that. I suppose it would be prudent to say the food was good.

My first Taco Nazo trip was when I was 5 years old. My dad had brought me to eat the famous fish tacos! At the time, I thought it would taste bad but it turned out I liked it. Ever since that day I knew I would be hooked! It's been a while since I last had Taco Nazo but it never seems to disappoint!!!!

3.5 stars These are my favorite fish tacos in the LA area. They're the closest to thing to the kind you can get in Baja. The fish is very crispy, and served with cabbage, tomatoes, and crema. Sometimes they can be hit-or-miss though: the last time I went the fish was a little greasy and heavy. The shrimp tacos are good too, but I've noticed they get soggy more quickly. As others have mentioned, the grilled lemon pepper chilies are delicious and make a fine accompaniment to the food. Unfortunately, the ceviche is very disappointing. There is little flavor besides the strong acidity of the lime juice. The batch I had last time tasted like it had been sitting all day because the fish had a rubbery texture. The salsas in the salsa bar are also underwhelming. I use a little to provide a little kick to my food, but it avoid eating it straight up with tortilla chips. These shortcomings aside, if you want authentic fish tacos and find yourself in SGV or OC, you can't go wrong with the Taco Nazo chain.

  • Mint T.

I love their fish tacos! Crisply fried with delicate golden batter, served piping hot with shredded raw cabbage and crema. And the roasted hot chiles with lemon pepper are worth the flaming tongue afterwards. Downsides--this is a lunch counter place with formica tables/booths, so no ambiance, and you often have to wait 10+ min for your order.

OVERALL RATING = 8 / 10 The EATS: Taco: Pescado = 9 Rice = 8 Taquitos: Pescado = 7 Chips = 5 The DRINKS: Sprite = 5 The ATMOSPHERE = 5 The SERVICE = 5 ---COMMENTS--- Went w/ wife & friends. Pescado Tacos - There's a big sign next to the entrance that says "World's Best Fish Tacos" and as I walked in I thought, "I will either be very satisfied (not "impressed" but satisfied) or very disappointed." Upon first look, it doesn't look anything above your ordinary fish taco (i.e. Rubios) with the exception that it was overflowing out of the soft tortilla and I thought, "There better be a lotta meat for it to be like that..." Sure enough, the battered-fish was very meaty and juicy. I never learned what the white sauce is that they put on top of these tacos, but this one was excellent. Now, a friend pointed out that fish tacos in general never really impressed him because he claims a fish taco is too mundane and doesn't allow much creativity and cannot rise above its ordinary boundaries ("unless they use endangered sea bass for the meat"). I don't know if that's true, but what I do know is that I definitely have preferences. These fish tacos are definitely better than Del Taco and Rubios and would probably compete with Wahoo's. The APPEAL = 8 I'll be back to try their potato taco along with some more fish tacos (but gotta try Wahoo's again to compare). Enjoy!

Ive been going to taco nazo 4 years, I started off at the west covina location, but any of them have THE BEST, fish tacos and fish burritos! Really delicious shrimp cocktail, and the west covina one had bomb asada nachos and asada tostadas. And to add to ur delicious meal, the roasted chile peppers they serve u with a salty, peppery, lemony zing! Yum!

The best fish and shrimp tacos around...

    (5)
  • Esther Y.

Fish taco - All I could taste was batter and no fish. The batter was extremely oily and was not too enjoyable Carne asada taco - The meat is flavorful, but not too tender. Not too special of a taco. It needs some sort of spicy sauce or salsa on top. Al pastor taco - The meat was fatty and flavorful, what I was hoping for. There are 3 types of salsa at the salsa bar.. They are sweet in nature and not very spicy. The tortilla chips are thin and have good texture, but not enough salt on the chips.

Definitely underwhelming experience here. But, all in all, not bad. I just don't know about this place though....it just doesn't feel authentic to me...I'm pretty sure it's because I've lived in San Diego for such a long time, and I'm used to hole in the walls or taco trucks. This place was clean, had it's own salsa bar, but no bright, home-made, red hot sauce...just a bunch of cholula, and other members of the hot sauce family that you can find on the shelf. Ok apart from the lack of authenticity, I thought the food was whatevers. I had both the shrimp and fish tacos. I think you can get the same thing at Rubios for the same price. I hate how the shrimp is over-breaded. It was one of those, "can I get some shrimp with my batter please?" moments. I like my shrimp to be juicy....not dried-up inside thick batter. Plus, there was that cabbage lettuce with the mayo sauce on top....not so used to that on my shrimp tacos.....I've definitely had better shrimp tacos. The fish was the same as the shrimp....pretty small...and had a little too much mayo sauce on top of the cabbage. And, I NEED HOT RED MEXICAN SAUCE! Wth? One redeeming factor though, were these large peppers, sprinkled with some type of lemon salt, that was wonderful! Yummmm...but yeah. Other than that, nothing too spectactular. I would rather go down the street to molcasalsa for their carne asada nachos.

Their Fish Tacos are soooooooooooooo good! I really never had anything else here, because their fish tacos are addictive. Their roasted jalopenos are really good too, altho it burns down my throat, but oh well when you have those, you can't avoid it.

Yum yum! I always get the beef taco combo. He always gets the fish taco combo! Both are delicious and you get really good chips and salsa with every order! Great taco stop and they have good potato tacos too!

The first time I had El Taco Nazo fish tacos was in Baldwin Park and ever since then nothing, except for Mexico, has come close. The BEST fish tacos ever! I haven't had El Taco Nazo for years, I am glad there is one closer to me. The only thing that's missing are the margarita's! This is the real thing, you just have to go try it!

Don't be fooled by the exceptional reviews: the fish tacos here aren't that great. They're just okay. Also, the salsa bar was kind of gross when I went. Everything was in everywhere. I did like the carne asada tacos here, but that's because I always like carne asada tacos. I do like the atmosphere here, though. It's nice and festive :).

  • Kim T.

Very, very, very good fish tacos. The fish is HUGE, the cabbage is FRESH, the fish taco comes straight out HOT and made when ordered. I usually split a 6 pack of fish tacos with a buddy. I wish they still had the deal for three fish tacos and a drink for 5$. Anyways, awesome place.

    (5)
  • Austin T.

They have great fish tacos but they are a little small and it cost extra for beans and rice. It would be better if they had some greater deals on Tuesday like most Mexican food places do, but they do have some small deals. but they have a great selections of hot sauces and it is good food so I do recommend going there.

Too much hype. Fish tacos here are bomb, but "Best in the World"?? I didn't realize that there was a fish taco award committee. If I was in the area again, grab two fish tacos from here and then hop across the street to Molca Salsa, best shrimp burritos in the WORLD!!!

Wow...sounds like everyone loves this place. I guess I should have had a fish taco, but I didn't. One of my co-workers suggested this place, hearing a few good things about it. We felt adventurous, so off we went. Get there and not terribly excited about the menu. So I order a #4 combo, two carniasada tacos, chips, and a drink for about $5.50. Sit, get salsa, and the food comes. I don't think I've ever had tacos that small before, not for almost $6. They were about 4 inches long. They were decent, not anything to rejoice over or anything, but just ok for me. The chips were really good and the salsa, too, but man...I'm still hungry.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. If you like mexican food (which, i don't know anyone who doesn't)... you will love the fish tacos at this place. A couple things that makes this place stand out for me was their side of roasted chili pepper and the way they sliced their cabbage so thin. YUM. They have many other things on their menu for those who don't like fish. I also enjoyed their shrimp cocktail and ceviche tostada. I'm not a fan of menudo, but I saw many folks ordering that too. Their condiment bar is pretty good too :)

The best fish and shrimp tacos and burritos. However, of all the items there, I recommend the shrimp burritos. This place rocks.

  • The Mermy G.

The fish tacos are the best thing on the menu. I repeat the fish tacos are the best thing on the menu. We came and ate and ate and drank and enjoyed every minute of it. If you buy a bucket of beer (5) bottles, they give you the 6th one free! The tables may be a little sticky but who cares when the tacos are that good.

4.5 stars. Fish tacos are a simple food, but so many places just RUIN them. That isn't the story at Taco Nazo, my favorite fish taco spot this side of East LA. Fantastic crispy fried fish covered with some cabbage, tomato and that wonderful fish taco dressing/sauce/salsa, whatever the hell it is. They've got a nice little salsa bar, as well, if you want a kick in the pants with your pescado. I was also struck by how good their plain ole tortilla chips are. Most places consider these a throw in and regularly give you cold, hard chips. Nazo actually had warm, fresh-tasting (or at least un-stale) corn tortilla chips with the tacos, which provided a nice crunchy contrast and created a vehicle for the many salsas. I'm no expert on fish tacos, but I have had them in Baja and these are just as good. More convenient too.

    (4)
  • Paul W.

Tried the fish and shrimp taco combo. The fish and shrimp portion in the taco was a little on the small side but tasted good. The atmosphere is a little generic feeling. I wish they had homemade salsa at the salsa bar instead its just bottled sauces.

The most awesome fish tacos north of Baja!!! Staff is very friendly. I was visiting my mother-in-law in La Habra & found this place from Yelp & followed yelpers' accolades for this restaurant. I'm glad to see one near my Lakewood home, in Bellflower. :)

Welcome back Lent!! Taco Nazo is one of those places for me that's always forgotten about, I don't know why when it's lunch time we always go to a commercial fast food place or somewhere we ALWAYS go. Well now that lent's back there's a bunch of people in the office that aren't eating the meat which it great news for fish taco lovers! Today I ordered a fish burrito and a fish taco both were suuuuuperb the fish they serve is unlike any other place serving fish tacos. You get a huge piece of fish with a awesome batter fresh cabbage and good sauce. The burrito is the same as the taco except with the addition of a scoop of beans. If you prefer shrimp you're also in for a treat they fry up huge pieces of shrimp, I've had lobster that are smaller. Best fish and shrimp taco's I've ever had!

This is my favorite taco place so far. Love the fish and beef tongue tacos. Order them every time. My one year old has her first beef tongue here. lol take after her mama! The free grilled jalapenos are the bomb. So good by themselves or with the tacos. This place is always crowded whenever I came, usually around 12-2p. No sever, it's a self-served place.

  • Erin S.

I've only tried the fried fish and shrimp tacos and the shrimp cocktail, but I don't really want to have anything else. I come here for the fish and shrimp tacos. This may be the only place I've been that comes close to the tacos I had in Ensenada. yum yum yum. The shrimp they use is that chewy kind of shrimp that has a more lobster-like consistency, which really makes for a good texture when it comes to tacos. Those free grilled peppers are really good, but wow, they're spicy. I can usually only take a couple bites before my mouth is on fire.

  • Steve L.

Their fish tacos are the best! The food always taste fresh. I tried other stuff here but I think fish taco is the best they have to offer. I also like their salsa bar with homemade sauces and veggies. Even though I smell like oil every time I eat here, that's a small price to pay.

I've only discovered this place recently [like maybe a month ago], but since then I've gone back many times haha. The first time I went there I had the fish tacos [it was for Lent]. The fish was crispy & the stuffing or whatever you call it was good. They have a small salad bar type thing, so you can grab some lemon, salsa, onions & cilantro which you can add to the tacos. The other times I've gone I've gotten the potato tacos, & even after eating them like 2 hours later [b/c I'm drinking first lol] they're STILL bomb. All in all, it's a really good place to get some tacos... They're cheap, they're yummy, & they have a good selection.

i tried 2 of each. the fish tacos, asada, and el pastor. fish tacos were awesome. better than my usual spot rubio's asada was good but had better in worse hole in the walls and taco trucks. el pastor....hmm..i couldnt finish. the marinade was too sweet-like and tangy. maybe i should have tried the carnitas next. horchata was sweet, and the cashier was nice. i'm going back for the fish tacos for sure.

Lead to another Mexican restaurant by my girlfriend. Now, I love fish tacos so I had to try. They were very good. The 99 cent fish taquitos you get on Tuesdays, not as much. They just felt like fried tortillas with the hint of some fish flavor in it. The carrots that you can get are a bit soft like they were stewed instead of having any crunch the way I like it. The place is what you would expect. The food took a long time to make even though there was nobody there, and we had ordered ahead of time. The prices are good though. However, I don't believe that this is the type of place I'd crave for, but not bad.

UPDATE.. My friend recommends the albondigas.. try it...

  • Angela D.

When we first started going to Taco Nazo the carne asada & carnitas tacos were the bomb. They have a good breakfast burrito too, it's huge and all for like $4. Then I tried the fish burrito and it was alright, wasn't that good, I've had much better. I went back to what I knew was good which was the carne asada & carnitas tacos and for some reason it was dry, I couldn't figure out what happened. I thought maybe that was an off day, so I gave them another go around and the same thing again, dry meat. I don't think I can give them another chance, if I want a breakfast burrito I might stop by, but that's it.

I wil keep it simple. I have eaten at many spots that serve fish tacos in Cali including that garbage called "Wahoos Tacos" and no one other than TACO NAZO gets closer to ensenada fish tacos(Ensenada, the real ensenada south of Tijuana). YOu wont find a better spot on this side of the border.

So, I used to think this place was good, and my girlfriend and I enjoyed their tacos twice. Unfortunately, the third time that we went we were given fish tacos that were 99% pepper and tasted nothing of fish at all. Unfortunately, since Baja Tacos, in Whittier, is consistently good, we will not be visiting El Taco Nazo again anytime soon.

I was really excited to discover this place within lunching distance of work as it used to be a college mainstay (used to have fish tacos for .99 on wednesdays) but it appears there has been an ownership change or at the very least a corporate re-branding of the restaurant I used to know and love -- the old El Taco Nazo would never have had a website. Wouldn't be surprised if thats the reason the awesome location in the Pomona artists' district closed -- putting pool tables and a concert venue in a Mexican restaurant must not have fit in with their market strategy :(. That said, its still a better choice than Rubio's for fish tacos, just be sure you're paying attention when waiting for your order as they were calling out order numbers in Spanish when I was there.

Creamier, fresher and tastier than Rubio's. Potato tacos are dense and filling, worth a try. Pick up some free lemon pepper grilled peppers too. Not the cheapest place but worth every penny.

Damn good Baja style cuisine served hot and fresh. I was most impressed with the ceviche (shrimp) tostada which seemed to be a fairly new menu item. The fish and shrimp tacos were also very good and they are only available deep-fried style (i.e. there are no grilled fish or shrimp options). The carne (steak) tacos were decent and I did not try the shrimp or other seafood cocktails because I am not a fan of the preparation that includes tomato juice. The name of this place always reminded me of the Mexican version of "The Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld which made me laugh. I have driven past this place plenty of times without stopping in and they recently got voted as the best local (as opposed to larger chains like Rubio's) fish taco place in L.A. from "tu Ciudad Los Angeles" magazine so I tried it out and I'm glad I did. I would recommend it to anyone that likes fast-fresh mexican seafood in a very casual setting.

Approaches greatness when it comes to fish tacos. I look forward to comparing it with Senor Fish, but as there aren't any around my neck of the woods, that will have to wait. We've had the burritos and shrimp cocktails, but those are not nearly distinctive. If it was just up to fish tacos, these guys rule. Eating here reminds me of being in Baja, the smell, the sounds, the heat (well not always, but its summer as i write this). Have two and a beer, and your day is done. The place itself is not much to look at, a brick interior and a counter, with a side stand with grilled peppers, condiments, chopped veggies, various salsas. But eating them to go kind of ruins the meal. You want that freshly fried, battered fish on a white sauce wrapped in a tortilla with a mix of veggies hot and crisp, buttery with every bite.

I visted El Taco Nazo with my father, mother and daughter. When we received our meal, we noticed that our side order of chilies did not look or taste very appealing. We observed that the chilies were old and wilted, lacking their typical firmness. They were slimy and limp. As I ate my 2nd taco (order #7), I paused to remove a small piece of fat, and as I did I pulled out a hair. I took a moment to scrutinize this small hair, my mother watched horrified as I showed her what I found in my taco- it appears to be a PUBIC hair. When I went to the pick up bar to show an employee, I asked to speak with the manager or shift on duty, who identified herself as a manager but did not display or speak proficient English for me to convey my disgust or concern to her. Thankfully Yadira intervened and offered to remake my taco or issue a refund. Since I was thoroughly appalled I opted for a refund (and I gave her my receipt), which she refunded the price of ONE TACO and NOT my meal or entire CHECK. Once again I am very disappointed with how El Taco Nazo handled my concern, and rather then try to win over my loyalty and demonstrate their apologies for a poor experience, they refunded the price of ONE TACO. Wow, I am not very impressed.

For some reason, I've never come across this chain until I ended up in the far northern reaches of Orange County... That's right, La Habra. Entering the restaurant on a whim, I thought it was a chill place to grab a quick bite to eat- especially if you find yourself temporarily lost on the way to Rowland Heights. As much as the fish tacos are touted as the best in LA, I really couldn't taste that big of a difference compared to Rubio's... In fact, I might actually like Rubio's fish taco a little more. What I WAS impressed with was their shrimp tacos and potato tacos- DELICIOUS! The shrimp was lightly breaded and fried, and the potato taco was like a deep-fried empanada with lettuce and white sauce on top. On top of that, they also fry their own tortilla chips- a tasty, if somewhat greasy, treat! While La Habra definitely feels like a modern day "one horse town", I wouldn't mind stopping by every once in a while for Taco Nazo... Get the fish taco, you won't regret it!

I don't know what has changed but it is something significant. I used to love the fish tacos but they just aren't that good anymore. Poor quality fish, batter too thick, and the tortillas are barely cooked. This is based on my last visit in 05/2012. I may try it again and see if they corrected their errors.

On this Sunday afternoon I was thinking Chick Fil A but it was sad news when I arrived and I realized it closes on a Sunday. Boo Hoo I said to myself. Well as I was heading back I decided that Taco Nazo would be the next stop. I really wasn't feeling shrimp tacos but knowing that all the other Nazo's are pretty good I should be fine. Well I was wrong. There was a lot of breading and very tiny shrimps. I felt so ripped off.

third time here. had the fish tacos, and they are pretty good, with big chunks of fish. saved $.05 per taco, with the six-pack order. a couple of big screen tv's with the broncos-chargers playoff game on, so a nice extra for me. just a picky, personal thing, but i like rice and beans in the fish burrito, i think that theirs don't have rice, but i guess you can get the combo meals include rice on the side, if you must. pickled carrots, radishes good. salsas good, on the borderline watery, but had some flavor.

My brother kept raving about their fish tacos, so I finally gave in. The fish tacos are really big-- I got full off just two of them. They taste fresh and delicious like everyone said, but I found the fish batter a little too overwhelming. The fish inside was definitely yummy though, so I will be back whenever I get that craving for fish tacos.

Came here to check it out. We always pass it and never stop. I'm so glad we did today. Potato tacos were the bomb an their flan...creamy, firm D-lish! Definitely coming back!!! Oh, and the prices are really reasonable. $2.99 for 3 tacos and I was full. My husband had the fish tacos, rice and beans. Taste just like my Mommas cooking!

Love, love love the fish tacos here. I was a fan from years ago when they had the place in El Monte (no longer there). The cream (crema), the perfect fried batter, and they grill a chili that's perfectly seasoned. Actual restaurant is not the cleanest in the world, and the chairs and tables are wobbly. But it's so good, I overlook that!

Love the potato tacos and fish tacos. The food is always fresh. I usual order all my items a la carte here so I can sample new items every time I come.

I've been coming here for over 10 years even though it may be a few times a year everything was always the same terrific!! Today, the line was long and it took a while to get the food. They advertise Michelada but don't have any, no Tecate! No roasted chilies, cilantro or salsa in the condiment cart. Please, please don't go downhill!! I love the food here!!!

Let's get down to the nitty gritty (in my best NACHO LIBRE voice)... Lunch. Party of Four. Our order: ~Fish Taco Combo ~Shrimp Burrito ~Carnitas Torta ~Bean and Cheese Burrito ~Guacamole and Chips The combo was yummy 2 Tacos, Rice, Beans, Chips and Drink! My picky eater kiddo (Bean and Cheese Burrito) really liked his choice. His burrito was cut in half and he asked to take home what he did not finish! The Torta was massive and full of meat! The Roasted yellow chile was Sooooo good, and the Guacamole was just right. SERVICE: The best that it could be with 2 people in the kitchen during the lunch rush. Don't know if that's always the case, Maybe someone called in sick. Yeah, that may be it. Spent a whopping $23.97... Woo Hoo! Will definitely be back.

Close to home and great food. I even had their shrimp cocktail. I keep coming back. Those little peppers can be kinda mild or they can be hot, but I always eat the whole thing because they're so good!

Friends took me here recently for the first time purely as a ride along. "I already ate I said" but I will go anyways. I was a little surprised about the location as I would have never found the place without an escort. Nor have I heard of the name before. Funny name I thought for a restaurant. Walked in and looked like a typical Mexican restaurant. Nothing spectacular about the place. Clean, sit down booths and tables. TV and salsa bar is there if you want to hang there and eat. Self serve type place so don't be surprised if no one ever takes your order from the tables. Not that kind of place. When the place is packed your waiting in a line awkwardly twisting through tables headed out the door. Yes. I admit it. Even though I wasn't hungry I ordered two asada tacos anyways..... So your asking yourself. If I am saying the place is average because of the way it looks and it's not a full service restaurant then why the 4 stars? I will tell you... It's the food. The tacos are chronic! They have addicting meat tacos like you just stepped across into TJ. Their carne asada and chicken tacos are as addicting as crack "so I have heard, never tried crack personally". (Nor does this person endorse the use of crack. I am only using it metaphorically to get my point across on how addicting their tacos are) I haven't even gone through the rest of their menu yet, as I say why? Sure the have Fish and shrimp tacos also. Maybe a little carnitas (pork) for those that like the other white meat! But I am sadly a creature if habit. After you have had the perfect taco, why order anything else? I have now gone maybe a dozen times over the last two months. I have honestly gotten as far as mixed tacos and their bean and cheese burritos. After I had one of those I was like really? So now I have to get tacos and a burrito when I go there. Oh and by the way. Got the wife addicted to the fish and chicken tacos!! With their house salsa and chili's? Yeah she was done.. At some point maybe well get further down their menu. Or maybe not! Why mess with perfection. So if your ever in the mood for a self serve McDonald's type Mexican place, stop by the place with a funny name! If you can't find it, look for the line off beach and la Habra. That doesn't work? Follow me in around dinner time. I am one of those guys standing awkwardly through the tables!!

Lived in La Habra for 4 years and it took for me to move away to finally eat here. I work in Rowland Heights and was going to commute to Whittier to meet with my Fiancé. Only thing I had an hour to spare and I was hungry. At the same time a soccer game in which I bet on was underway so I thought, hey I'll stop by taconazo and get a bite to eat and watch the game. Best decision I have ever made. Being that they advertise their fish and shrimp tacos, I decided to get one of each and a nice cold beer. Exceptional! Great tasting fish and shrimp. One of the best tacos I have ever had. Customer service was great as well.. they have three tvs and to my surprise no soccer game was being shown. Weird right. I kindly asked if they can put it on and yes. Did it with a smile. It's very hard to even get a smile off an underpayed employee now a days but not here.. Try this place! And thank me later..

Their fish tacos are amazing! I only have a small negative comment about my visit last Sat. The cashier was not very friendly and rung my order up wrong and the wait was VERY long. I was not in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal but for 2 fish tacos...I waited about 30 minutes.

This place used to be delicious! Last two times were TERRIBLE! Soggy tacos, they had to be old because they smelled super fishy! Service was bad. I believe she was the owner but please acknowledged your customers!! She barely gave me eye contact she was too busy with her cell phone. RUDE! She had me repeat myself a few times because she wasn't paying attention to me. Never again! Sorry! (Music sucks too) this place is not a Mexican restaurant anymore.

  • Camie R.

Absolutely love the food here! I've never eaten anything here that I didn't love. Chicken burrito, shrimp tacos and of course the famous fish taco. Try their hot chili peppers! Also, Horchata is authentic and delicious! The only CON is that the restaurant isn't very clean. So, I prefer to take my food home.

    (4)
  • Cara K.

Delicious fish tacos! I especially love the grilled salt & peppered hot pepper they give you with the tacos. They are typically a little more on the pricy side (compared to a typical carne asada taco). The fish is perfectly fried and tasty. Ceviche is fresh, juicy, and satisfying.

I usually go to the Bellflower branch and these were the differences I noticed Pros -La Habra location is MUCH more open with tons more seating & available parking -Nice little salsa/condiment bar with PERFECT carrot/onion/jalapeno pickle (and they actually peel the carrots before slicing) -Fountain drink machine off to the side Cons -Fish tacos were not as good as Bellflower's.. less crema... and just tasted different -The salsas were different and also didn't compliment my fish tacos at all -I've had pastor tacos here and it was unbelievably salty. Absolutely inedible To me, it really is all about the fish tacos to me and I really prefer Bellflower over this branch. Sorry!

When I am craving fresh, decently priced Mexican food this is my top choice. Everything I have tried has been delicious and the peppers they give you are so addicting! And hot! My favorite thing to get is the shrimp taco combo, the beans and rice are amazingly delicious. Be sure to go with ample time because this place gets busy, it is very worth the wait!

    (4)
  • Ruth A.

The best shrimp tacos! Mouth watering good! I drive an hour to eat here when I want to spoil myself. My other favorite is the shrimp cocktail they are loaded with a lot of shrimp. And the salty roasted yellow peppers go great with the food.

Just finished eating here and it was really good. Fish tacos are excellent as are the potato tacos. Service is a bit slow because it looks like they are under staffed. Prices are so so for tacos but it's in a nice area so that may be why. Overall it's decent, nothing incredible but it it's worth coming again.

Amazing food!! Probably the closest to Ensenada style tacos out there.. You can't go wrong with the shrimp or potato tacos..been to this location probably 20 times now and have never had a bad experience

  • Keith P.

Best fish tacos in OC. A bold claim, but it's true. The secret is in the special sauce, which is an unusual flavor that sets these tacos apart from the rest. Hard to describe - maybe some mayonnaise, sour cream, pepper, it's really hard to say. But it is really unique. The potato tacos are outstanding as well, and also quite different than tacos you're used to having at other places. Well worth the drive to La Habra. Get the six-packs or twelve packs if you're really hungry - and remember that multi-taco orders come with a free roasted chile guerito.

Call me crazy. This spot taste better than the original joint in La Puente. Maybe its the fryer maybe its the oil. Who knows. But either or, Nazos always makes a bomb fish taco

This place is great! My family and I were craving legit tacos from a good Mexican restaurant and we decided to try this place out because an old worker recommended it, and totally no regrets! We got there quick and it was pretty easy to find parking. We went in and it was not too full nor too empty. The line was relatively short. Their menu is normal for variety and their prices are cheap compared to others. We looked at the menu and it took us a while since everything sounded so great. We ordered and paid. Literally within less than 5 minutes they served us our food! We were impressed. Portions are big and the flavor is perfect. You'll be salivating for more. Their drinks are good, horchata, jamaica, and Sangria are my best guess. Don't miss out on the salsa bar because it's quite a big of a restaurant you may not see the salsa bar hiding. If you're in this area, definitely stop by to check the place out, you'll be very satisfied with the prices and flavors of the food. Tacos- beef, chicken, or fish are all really tasty! Rice and beans are absolutely amazing!

Very good food. Fish tacos and mixed shrimp squid ceviche tostada were top notch. But once I hit the restroom there was a big cockroach in the urinal. Awful cleanliness (plus several litttle kids running amok. Umm parents?)

  • Rachel V.

This is the place to be for Taco Tuesdays! They're the best when it comes to fish tacos. The tortilla is soft. The fish is crunchy. After eating here, the other places just don't compare. I always get the 2 fish taco combo with chips and salsa and a drink. I think it comes out to around $5-6. The best $5 you'll spend on fish tacos. You won't regret it.

Yummy! Their fish tacos are awesome. To add to the deliciousness, they give you a free chili that is almost worth the trip alone.

Food is ok. I didn't try the fish tacos which seems to be their specialty. Place is dirty and no fda rating posted outside. Price per combo plate is about $9.00. A bit too high for the food and restaurants experience. I'd not come back,.

This time we came back and got 6 fish and 6 shrimp tacos! My fish tacos were dry and they put too much batter! Boooo! But still how I remembered it. Tasty AND expensive! Still a fan especially for their fiery hot roasted pepper with that tasty sprinkle of lemon pepper? Soooo gooood it burns!

Pretty good Ensenada style fish and shrimp tacos. Not world's best though. The fish tacos I had in actual Ensenada--Taco Nazo's can't even compare to those. Would go again for fish tacos but I want to try the other fish taco joints in the area to see if those can match up to real Ensenada tacos! Fish tacos were crispier and more flavorful than the shrimp tacos. Shrimp ceviche tostada was pretty good but not stellar either.

Shrimp taco, by far the best I've ever had. Fish is delicious, taco is a healthy size.

This is just a great establishment. I'm addicted to this place. I love the salsa bar and especially their fish tacos. One time I came here after I worked out and I ate six fish tacos. I felt bloated afterwards, but it was a good feeling and I went into a deep food coma. Fortunately, I was at home and slept right after. The fish tacos are bomb. Comes in a corn tortilla, cabbage, fish taco sauce, and some salsa on top. I like how the crispy fish is hot and warm and the cooks make it when you order it. I got the carne asada tacos and they're good too. The meat wasn't too salty and there was a lot on the taco. I believe the fish tacos are $1.69. If you're a fan of seafood, then I would recommend this place! Next time I'm going to try their shrimp tostadas and shrimp cocktails.

  • Anson L.

Best fish taco in the area and I would know, my pescatarian girlfriend and I have tried them all. Great price and I've never had an issue with the staff. It has the normal assortment of Mexican food dishes but I would stick to the fish and shrimp tacos to see what really makes this place great. I only give it four stars instead of five because their salsa bar isn't that great.

    (4)
  • Jon K.

Very sad. We've been eating here for years and over the past couple of years the portion sizes have shrunk to ridiculous sizes . Tonight I ordered an asada burrito all meat. I was told there would be an extra charge for all meat - no problem. The burrito I received , after paying an additional 1.89 on top of the 5.99 price was no bigger than a bean burrito at Tack Bell. The quality of food is good, but because of the ever shrinking portion sizes, you can get good Mexican food somewhere else.

  • Judith F.

I came to eat to this place because i thought all Taco Nazo's are the same (I use to live in Lynwood Ca, and the nearest Taco Nazo was in Bell flower " right there the tacos are sooo Delicious and well made) so i come here to this location because i moved, so now this one is the nearest one to my house. I order some fish tacos thinking they were made the same, i know fish tacos always comes with cabbage NOT! Lettuce . Here they use lettuce the tacos are super small. Not to mention customer service is bad it almost seem's like the girls here don't even enjoy working there.

    (2)
  • Anel L.

BLAH! What happened to Taco Nazo? Shrimp taco was salty the fish was good but they were skimpy on the famous cream sauce! And now you have to pay extra for the yellow chilies!!! And didn't properly fryed them and put lemon pepper! I used to love you Taco Nazo but your La Puente and El Monte locations suck too!

  • Adorable T.

This place is really cheap! The staff is really nice and helpful. Since I recently became vegetarian, I'm limited to veggies and.... fish. I ended up getting the vegetarian burrito--no. Lots of tortilla (which didn't taste good) and refried beans. Others who ordered fish tacos were content. The fish (not sure what type) was deep fried. A friend said that their tacos are not much different than that of Rubio's. I liked the tartare sauce though.

    (3)
  • Kevin K.

Fish tacos here are unreal. One of my friends ranted about how this place sucked and after I tried it I round house kicked him in the nuts. If you're reading this don't be stupid and go to rubios or some shit. Get in your car, scooter, donkey whatever the hell you ride and get your ass over here.

    (5)
  • Melanie S.

My go to stop for fish tacos. Yes, they're fried. Yes, they're cheap. Yes, they are amazing! The three main factors when looking for a good fish taco: fried, cheap, and a good balance of fish to cabbage slaw. Taco Nazo has it down right. The biggest difference between this place and other fish taco joints are the supple amounts of fish in each taco. I've been to many places where they have this huge fish taco, covered with slaw, and all that's in there is a whole lot of fried batter and this tiny little pinky size sliver of fish. Not at Taco Nazo. The fish is decent sized and eating 2 tacos fills me up easily. They tacos are made to order so definitely wait a bit after you get them. They're hot off the frier and who likes biting into food that your tongue just can't take. It'll ruin your experience. So order the fish tacos. Wait a minute and enjoy the hot steam rising from your plate and not in your mouth, and then take that first crispy bite of cheap fried goodness.

  • Bill S.

I have been going to Taco Nazo since they had they had ther humble beinnings in Pomona man years ago. Although, back then, I did not appreciate the fish taco(I was just a lil fella). Others have tried to make fish tacos, but none cmpare to Taco Nazo. No matter which location you go to, the flavors are consistant. The fish on the tao is nicely breaded. Giving a litle bit of crunch when you bit into it. The sause on the taco adds a lot to the flavor as well. Usually, I order 3 at a time. Oink! Oink! on me! Thi location is across the street from Costco. So it isa great lace to grab a bite to eat before joining the erd and spending your mandatory $200.

    (5)
  • Clara L.

I'll give Taco Nazo 2 stars out of nostalgia... It was definitely better in the past. I hadn't had it in years and was very disappointed when I finally decided to satiate my fish taco craving.

  • David M.

The Best Fish Tacos!!! their Carne Asada and pollo and other meats are all mediocre. Similar to Albertos, but boy do they know how to make a fish taco! You know how some places you go get fried fish or fried anything and they come out real dark and it seems like they fried it in old oil... Not this place, their fish comes out clean and crisp with the perfect shade of golden batter. Topped with some cabbage and their AMAZING white sauce and you got the perfect fish taco! I seriously prefer this place over any other Mexican restaurant if its fish tacos, and think its way better than Baja Fresh or any of those franchise fish taco joints. Even better than California Fish Grill. This is the one thing they know how to do and they do it the best! even tho its fried fish, i still walk out feeling like i ate something clean and fresh and that makes this place a winner!

Horchata and fish tacos, make sure you tell them to go easy on the sauce. Better than tacos baja on Whittier Blvd. Actually this place sounds really good right now, too bad they're closed.

When I'm starving, I have an inflated opinion of the things I eat. I was starving. I walked in after picking up a 40 of Corona at 7-11 (no para mi, vato!) and looked at the menu. Someone led me to believe there were real tacos here. They had pescado, camaron, carne asada, al pastor, pollo, potato and carnitas. I was crushed, disappointed, in despair, still starving, and ordered a fish taco. I also noticed the prices. A buck-eighty-five? Shi-shi. The salsa bar was aight. It had veggies and limes, and one salsa that was some kind of chunky red something I've never seen in my life. There was no tomatillo salsa. My fish tacos came out in their greasy, drippy, self-righteous glory. They were ok. They weren't necessarily bad like I was going to stop eating them and go on a manhunt, but I've never had a taco make me feel just a little depressed.

Always on the look out for a new fish taco place we headed over to taco nazo. It was Tuesday so we asked if there was any specials and were sadly told there are none! So we settled on fish, shrimp and potato tacos. All were just ok. Fish was not crunchy and the taco sauce was disappointing. It seems like everyone compares this place to tacos baja and I for one think tacos baja takes the cake!

This place is famous for its fish tacos, however since I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, I haven't had them. What I do get here though is the potato tacos, the nachos, and--once in a while--the vegetarian burrito. While I'm a huge burrito fan normally, the vegetarian burrito here is somewhat small and pretty dry and bland--if you order it, ask them to add the special crema that they serve with the fish and potato tacos, it improves it significantly although it's still not that great. However I really like their potato tacos--for the best deal get an order of 3 which comes with two chile gueritos, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and their special crema. It's very filling and tasty. Be careful on the chiles as their spice can vary from mild to super hot and you can't really tell how hot it is until you taste one. Usually they're pretty spicy though. I love their nachos just as much as the potato tacos if not more. The serving is large and they come with beans (lard-free), pico de gallo, and gucamole. The pico de gallo is very mild so you probably will want to enhance the nachos with one of the bottled salsas or salsa from their salsa bar. It's not exactly nutritious but it's very tasty and filling in a comforting way. The cheese they use isn't the normal yellow cheese or cheese sauce that you frequently see in nachos but a white cheese, maybe jack but I'm not sure. The guacamole is also very fresh tasting and thick. Make sure you have a knife and fork with the nachos as the guacamole, and pico de gallo are off to the side of the nachos and you will definitely want to mix everything together to get the best taste. The cashiers are very friendly and the parking lot is sizeable as it sits in a strip mall on the southwest corner of Beach and La Habra behind a 7-11 convenience store.

The first time I ate here, I had a total flashback to the 70's, when I had my first fish tacos in Ensenada. Remember the scene in Ratstouille when Ego flashes back to his childhood? It was just like that. But something has happened. Slowly, things have changed. First the salsa bar went south. Then the rice changed. The beans we had tonight were ice cold, and the cheese sat there unmelted. It's sad, really. I wonder what happened. Truly a candidate for Kitchen Nightmares, I almost expect Chef Ramsay to come out of the kitchen swearing, "It's raw, you burro!" How can you have a pot of beans sitting there all day, and serve them cold? Impossible. Taco Nazo only deserves one star, but I'll give them two because they were once great. The tacos are still good.

With a plethora (that's a great El Guapo word) of taco places, I was interested to try Nazo Taco. It's by our house in La Habra and people seemed to really like it. I ordered the combo plate with two tacos, one fish and one shrimp. In my opinion the shrimp was better but the fish was good. Both came with cabbage and their "secret" sauce. This is standard fish taco territory with nothing really hitting me like, "This place is unique and the food was outstanding." Don't get me wrong. It was good but I' m not sure if will be a place I will frequent much. When I'm in the mood for fish tacos I will probably remember it but who thinks about fish tacos on a regular basis? I don't...

I've been eating here for a few years now and I always thought they had great food. That said I went there last night for the first time in a year and was completely disappointed. I'm wondering if there are new owners because everything I ordered was off. The fish and shrimp tacos have always been a no Brainer when ordering but both were horrible. Dry and lacking much sauce. The mixed tostada was fishy and seemed like a smaller portion. The one that really surprised me was the regular cheese quesadilla. I mean how do you mess up a simple cheese quesadilla? ! Well let me tell you they did. When I got home and opened carton to cut up for my son I realized it was awfully thin and light. I separated the two tortillas and there was literally a layer of cheese resembling a thin layer of butter. The tortillas weren't even sticking together. And it was like that all the way thru! And it was like $3 to $4 dollars. Even the yummy little seasoned grilled chile's were disappointing. First time there in a long time because I also live very close to Tacos Baja and have been going there instead. Now I know I have been making the right choice. Won't be going to Taco Nazo ever again after that experience especially with Tacos Baja so close and SO MUCH BETTER!!! Nazo has went down hill. Go try Tacos Baja if you feel the same way as I do.

This location is nearby my local Costco. Ample parking in their plaza corner or off street side if you prefer. I only get the fish tacos here. I love their complimentary grilled yellow peppers which comes by 3-4 per half dozen tacos. I liked it better when the yellow peppers were set out at the self serve salsa bar. Oh well, times are changing. I always indulge on the sliced radishes here with my tacos. It's something I never pass up on. Another thing I like here, is that I hit the "green bottle" every time I come here (see pic). Yee-haw! Not many other taco places have flamin' chili sauce challenging enough for my taste palates.

Better than Tacos Baja as far as their fish tacos are concerned, but they are just too breaded and too lacking in actual fish inside the breading for my taste. Their sauce flavor is better than Baja's too, but I have had so many better fish tacos than either of these places! If I were in a pinch, I would come here again just because of their roasted peppers (way better than Baja's) and their salsa (which is unfortunately mild, but has a really great flavor--which Tacos Baja doesn't even have), but not because of their amazing fish tacos--because they are really far from amazing.

Been a while since I've been here and sadly they've gone down in terms of service, pricing, and quality. There was a huge help wanted sign outside which should have warned me of the turmoil inside. Be careful when you order cause the menu has changed and you have to read the fine print when ordering combos or "Baja size" meals (they are different). This new confusing menu does this restaurant a huge disservice; I'm not even sure why there's a combo to add only chips when they only offer one kind of salsa. I'll leave this place to the chip fiends.

My go to spot when I crave fish tacos. I usually get the two fish taco combo, which comes with tortilla chips and a drink. What I love about this place is that it reminds me of my trips to Ensenada as a kid, where you would walk up to the taco ladies next to the fish market and just get your grub on. The fish here is fresh and does not have any type of fishy odor, the batter is crispy, and the white sauce is pretty legit. The tacos here are very similar to the Ensenada taco's ladies but no one can really compare to them. My other favorite thing that I love about this place are their fried yellow chiles with seasoning. I can eat the whole tray if I wanted to but I'm nice so I share with the other patrons. I still need to try out tacos baja though, I hear they put up a fierce competition in the battle of the fish taco.

Apparently LA voted this the best taco place around because Ryan Seacrest announced it one morning on his radio show, so I decided to check it out after work. It was not good. I got a combo of a fish taco and a shrimp taco, but both of them were fish. The batter was so thick and heavy I could barely taste the fish! They also only give you one roasted pepper, and the salsa was pretty bland. Ryan, I think the Taco Madness needs a recount because this was yuck!

Saturday night visit. Having held the door open for an older lady to enter, she told me to go ahead and order first since she delayed me by holding the door. I told her that it was my first visit and didn't know the menu so for her to go ahead. She told me that if I liked fish tacos, order them without oil on the tortilla and I would be happy. I did, and she was right. Order to-go: 3 Fish tacos, no oil on the tortilla. A nice sized piece of crunchy fish added to the cabbage and sauce. Very good. A 4 star thumbs-up rating! Bean and cheese burrito. Simple but also good sized. Nice flavor. Hot sauce. The sauce, not salsa. Just enough heat. Chicken nachos. Not enough chicken, cheese, or beans. Too many chips with not enough added fixin's. Felt cheated for spending money on this. Salsa. Bland. Service was friendly but when my number was called out I went to the front counter and waited for a couple minutes until the lady called out to me that I needed to go around the corner to a side counter. The person taking the order should have told me that the food would be around the corner. Will go back for the fish tacos.

I am sorry. I want to like this place but this place does not have the best Fish Tacos in town. I can imagine the fish tacos being thrown on my head saying this but Rubios make much better fish tacos. The fish is crispy but yet, no actual flavor. The white sauce, is just eh. It is a local favorite and that is why this place is loved but I don't live in the La Habra area and I have definitely eaten way better tacos. Oh yeah, the carne asada is bland too. The al pastor meat is tasty because it is saltier and seasoned much better. Not worth driving to La Habra for the fish tacos. Just go to your local Rubios. I am just being honest.

I must loved to get screwed. Went back today to order food. To my surprise again they messed up my order and forgot 6 papa tacos. After driving back the girl at counter just gave me a dumb look and asked me what I would like. I said my food I paid for. She took my receipt and went to manager who proceeded to yell at her. At no time did manger ever come over to say I'm sorry. Made me wait ten minutes for the order to be corrected. Not once did I get I'm sorry. Just there you go. Thanks for nothing Taco Nazo. Do yourself a favor PLEASE CHECK YOUR ORDER!!!!!!!!!

My sister, cousin, and I came here for lunch on a Tuesday around 2pm. I've always wanted to try this place and I was especially excited because it was Taco Tuesday. We were all excited to just chill and try their fish tacos and when we went to order, man, we did NOT expect that. We were "greeted" by a super apathetic girl who has NO IDEA what customer service means to her. Her facial expressions, mannerisms, and tone were just unbelievable. She looked super miserable to be there. We ordered very nicely because we could sense her hostility and she was extremely unwelcoming. We tried to ignore it but it was just too much. Veronica or Victoria E, change your job if you're miserable. Customers don't want to be welcomed in that manner. Onwards to the food. The fish tacos were whatever and their roasted peppers are way too salty for my taste. Overall I thought the fish tacos were okay. They had no deals on Taco Tuesday which I thought was a bummer. Their salsas were pretty good but the guacamole is bland and their chips are overfried. Will I be back? Not if Veronia/Victoria is there and certainly not for their fish tacos. If I'm in the neighborhood, I will maybe stop by and see what else is on the menu. I thought the horchata was really good. All in all, it's an okay place.

Come here only for the fish or shrimp tacos. The meat is really not good, none of them. Service is great, prices and portions fair, they have a salsa bar, all good. Not the best fish tacos I have had but my husband is obsessed with the shrimp tacos here, so we stop every time we pass one of their locations. Not a fan of the beans and rice either, just stick to the fish/shrimp only and its great.

Quite a hassle to get into the lot where the restaurant is situated. Decent parking space. Clean place, fresh food. I suggest fish tacos (can't go wrong with the choice). Chips were a bit oily, but the oil wasn't old so that's good. Wished the hot sauce was spicy. Coming back again.

Let me start by saying that the minute you walk in, the wafting smell of fresh clean food is the first thing I smelled.. No burnt oily smell here!! I'm a huge fan of baja style fish tacos, ones that I've had in Rosarito and Ensenada.. I was eager to try these tacos, from how much my coworkers raved about them.. I ordered 3 as they come in double baby tortilla's.. Presentation was on point!! Finely shredded crisp cabbage, fresh pico de gallo with some fresh crema, ahhh but the prize was the light crispy batter the fish was wrapped in!!!! Not doughy or thick, nice flaky white fish.. Amazing!!! I didn't realize how quickly i devoured those babies, till my friend pointed out.. Hey you really finished up those tacos!! There was no trace of anything..I definitely will be coming back here and recommend this place!!

Looking for good Ensenada style fish tacos? Come here! It's much like the one's in Baja, hot, light and crispy. They also serve shrimp cocktail to boot. I prefer this place over Osteria down the ways, simply because they speak english and have the menu as such also. Mi espanol es no breno. The price are really fair, plenty of parking, and clean. Thumbs up, o·lé! But as always, let me know what you think!

Very good been and cheese burritos fresh beans asked for xtra cheese no additional charge packed with cheese! Limited salsa bar but clean! Burrito only $2.99 I was full but needed to try the fish tacos which they are known for really good a little salty but good!

I love tacos and have always seen this place but have never eaten there before. I work close by and decided to give it a chance because I was craving tacos! When I first came in around 3pm this place was dead! So I was a little nervous...I ordered the fish taco combo plate. My order was up in a few minutes. The fish tacos were so awesome! Probably the best I've eaten in a long time! And they are pretty decently sized. I also got red rice and beans and fresh chips. My only problem was with the beans, while they tasted fine they were luke warm and not even hot! But everything else was good and I'm definitely coming back for lunch soon! My combo was around $8 bucks and I got 2 tacos, beans, rice, chips, and a drink!

Always delicious. Fish tacos are the best! They come in double tortilla, I like to split the fish in half and make 2 tacos out of one, and for dessert you can never go wrong with the flan!

I usually stop here on the way back from Cilantros to get their Horchata. Pros: Very good Horchata. Best in town. Very tasty salsa and rice. Fish tacos are different and tasty Shrimp tacos were delicious too Employees are always keeping themselves busy taking orders, cooking, cleaning etc. Cons: Little bit pricier than Cilantros and no free chips either Al pastor taco was not good (-1 star)

  • Lilly M.

Don't let the 4 stars fool you.... 35 min wait on an order for two people. 5 fish tacos, one potato taco, and one shrimp taco and chips. I think the oil was old or something because the fish, batter, and chips were super greasy and had a bad after taste. Potato even tasted a little fishy. I get they're all cooked together but with fresh oil I don't think it would be like that. Couldn't make myself finish the two fish tacos. :/ yelp did me wrong! Check out Sabor Baja in Santa Fe Springs on Norwalk Blvd. not as many people, fish taco specials but can't remember what days. and they're much faster and so much more flavor (and better) than this place.

Our go to taco spot in the area. Fish Tacos are very good. Never hada bad meal here. The place is always clean and the staff is great. The little salsa bar cart thing is a nice touch with radishes, which I love. It can get a little busy but it has never really been a problem.

  • Krystle T.

Well, I cannot give a full bad review because the tacos were excellent... Had 2 fish tacos and 1 el pastor.. Fish was fried perfectly and the sauce they put on top was not overpowering. The el pastor meat was very tasty.. The one awful thing was the girl who took our order, Mary something.. total bitch and I called her out in front of all the other customers because flat out rude..So I did put her in her place because she deserved it..So that is the only reason why 1 star short of 5..

Fish tacos. Shrimp cocktail. Damn good. Asada is lacking something, but still good. Decently priced. Clean area. Some bum came in panhandling. Besides that overall good experience.

OMG... Love this place. I always get the shrimp ceviche tostada(opt out chips for tostada) and the bean and rice are the best! My man gets the tacos, bean and cheese burrito, or tortas. Salsa bar is always clean and fresh!

  • Manuel E.

I hate having to give two stars but this one falls on who I think is the manger. The service was a absolutely terrible! First it took 30 min for my number to be called, for two shrimp cocktails and two tacos. This would have been fine with me but no one was here! When I received my meal my taco was cold. I despise cold food. Now I have been coming her for over 15 years and have never had an experience like this. I can't for get about the over bearing, rude, mean manager. As I'm trying to make good with the fact that my food was sub-par and cold. I had to listen to this manager power tripping on her employees. Maybe she was mad because she couldn't talk on the phone as much as she wanted. She was on her phone quite a bit. And smile lady, because if you hate your job that much you shouldn't be working here. You really ruined it for me and my wife. The regular employees were very nice and made the visit tolerable. It gets so much better because as I sit here and write this the pit bull barks out more orders for her staff! After over 15 years of eating here I wonder if I'll ever be back here. Ta ta for now Taco Nazo...

During lent, this is my go-to place for Baja style fish tacos. The Baja (fried fish) style tacos here are as about as authentic as I've had stateside. Now, when in Mexico, I typically get my fish tacos from Esenada. That being said, the fish tacos from El Taco Nazo are very similar. The fish is deep fried, topped with cabbage and creamy white sauce and you're given the option of adding some pico de gallo or salsa to them. My favorite option is a little squirt of lime with a pinch of salt on top of that white sauce. Sooooooo good that way. If you're daring, you can try their roasted, salt and peppered yellow jalapeno peppers. Some aren't anywhere near as hot as others, so be warned!

So this faithful day, for lunch, I really wanted some tacos... so where do I turn to?? Yelp to the rescue. Dun-dun-dun-DUN! So we decided to check out something near the La Habra Costco. With it's decent ratings and promise of good Mexican food - we find El Taco Nazo. ETN is right across the street from the La Habra Costco. You can see their gas station. We decided to park at Costco and hoof it over there. But from what I can see, plentiful parking and all. What we ordered: Fish taco Carne asada taco Potato taco Shrimp ceviche tosada Fish burrito And to top it off a large horchata, that you can refill Nom nom nom. Everything was pretty delicious, maybe slightly underseasoned, but it's nothing that a pinch of salt and salsa can't fix. I would rather have it slight underseasoned than it being too salty and you can't do anything about it. My favorite was the potato taco and fish taco. You can definitely taste the beer batter in the fish taco. Nom nom nom. Everything can be ordered a la carte or in a combo (which comes with rice and refried beans) ETN serves beer here. At 3.50/bottle, it's not bad with a decent selection. Also, they have soda, jamaica drink, orange bang, pineapple bang, and horchata. They have a salsa bar with a few different selections and plenty of limes, radishes, and picked jalapeno & carrots. I'd return with an empty stomach and all. mmm Until we meet again El Taco Nazo

This place is awful it's dirty inside and the line is long... took for ever to get my order... And then when I finally got it the fish and shrimp taco! That was gross too! There was this little tiny shrimp and fish on my taco... Omg so so gross... it was 90% batter! Omg and everybody is eating this not even noticing you are eating batter tacos with cabbage and tortilla! Omg how gross! I threw my shit out.. paid 10.00 for batter! Omg never again.... pay attention to what you are eating people... take the batter off and see... !

Ok, I'm going to be kind, because I like the food here, and the place was pretty busy when I showed up... But something has to be done about the speed of service. I definitely would NOT have come here today if I knew I'd be waiting 40+ minutes for a burrito and quesadilla. I'm still waiting as I write this review. Food is good and service was fine when I was here last week, but come on! Over 40 minutes??? For a burrito and quesadilla??? Hopefully it's better next time I come in! Update: People are canceling their orders now... Update: Total time to receive my order: 48 minutes. Update: The kitchen says they're swamped... People are getting pissed. Alright... I'm out.

  • Charlie K.

Yeah to be honest I do enjoy the food here, I'd say it's one of the better mexican food chains out there today... I've visited other locations before but this location by far is probably the worst, only reason why I come back to this location is because it's closer to my home. Like the comments previously stated the service is very slow, the food is surprisingly even slower to come out, and tonight my girlfriend and I get there around 8:40PM, the cashier states that we can only order food to go at that point because the restaurant is "closed" and I look back at the sign and it clearly says 9PM... Nonetheless it wasn't a huge deal so we order our food, wait nearly 20 minutes or more and our food finally comes out... We get back to my place only to find out that one of our orders was not in the bag... I hope management actually pays attention to these reviews because the staff there needs to get launched...

I am a huge fan of the "EL" Taco Nazo in Pomona having eaten there many times as a poor college student. This one I do not believe is related nor anywhere near as good. The ingredients in the fish tacos are fresh enough, the crema light and not overpowering. The salsa bar was decent though limited in choice. The main issue was the fish/batter was unbelievably salty. Like - kill any hope of flavor salty. I am sitting here at work about an hour after eating, and I can still feel the dryness on the sides of my tongue. The saving grace was the grilled pepper covered in oil salt and pepper which was pretty fantastic and I nice surprise addition.

Fish tacos and shrimp tacos are delicious! They can be ordered with the combo which comes with beans and rice or just the tacos alone! I'm a beaner, so of course I had to try the refried beans, which I was not dissapointed, and the rice was perfect! I also had the Shrimp cocktail, it was MEH! I was not impressed! It needed cucumber, more spice, more shrimp! At $8 bucks for a small it's not worth it! There is also tacos the Carne Asada, for those out there with food allergies! Those are also pretty tasty! The ladies working are very sweet and friendly, parking is easy to get in and out! Four stars!

Ok NO! I have been coming here for years and I finally realized how absolutely crappy it really is. They are known for their fish and shrimp tacos and yes they are good but let's really take a detailed look at them, I did, and now I will share with all of you. They are 75% batter. They take a tiny sliver of fish and dip it two three times in the batter. The rest is the tortilla and cabbage. The icing on the cake was the shrimp tacos. As you can see in the picture I provided the $2.49 shrimp taco consisted of one TINY piece of shrimp ripped in two and coated with a copious amount of batter. I don't know about everyone else but that's disgusting and why should I be paying for batter tacos when I ordered shrimp. I will never come here again.

These tacos are not only fresh but filled with authentic flavor. With a good selection of meets and foods, Taco Nazo is my place to go in southeast LA for a filling meal. I recommend the fish tacos as well as the potato tacos. The spicy pork quesadilla is wonderful as well. try it out and you'll be happy I promise

I'm confused....I lived in Baldwin Park my entire life and lived off El Taco Nazo; however, I'm not sure if it's the same chain restaurant but it definitely tasted different. The batter to fish ratio was ridiculous, it tasted more like a fried batter taco. I don't think I'll be returning.

This place def has the best fish tacos in the area. The fish is crispy, the veggies in them are fresh, and the salsa they provide go super well with the food. The inside is spacey and welcoming. They have multiple TVs playing either news or telemundo (have no idea what they're saying and doing but provides an interesting atmosphere). I came and ordered the 3 fish taco combo which comes with rice, beans, chips and a drink. The food was hot and ready when it came out and the wait was nonexistent. I left both full and wanting more more more! The price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I will most definitely stop by to grab a fish taco here and there. I took out a star because the tray my food was served on smelled like an old rag. Understandable, but would appreciate their using a cleaner rag to wash down the trays. Taco Nazo should be renamed Taco Yeszo. Absolutely delicious

Great place to dine in and the food is tasty. My family and I come here every Sunday- it's almost like a tradition. Doesn't take long for the food to be prepared and served either which is awesome! I suggest that they train their staff who takes orders over the phone because I've had several incidents with the communication and having my orders corrected. Other than that, decent place for affordable quality food.

I like their shrimp and fish tacos. I usually have the three taco combo that comes with a drink. It is a little pricy but it is worth it if you want a decent fish/shrimp taco. The parking lot can get crowded but they have a lot spaces available.

My friend brought me here for lunch. Is a order-at-the counter and find your own table place. The cashiers were friendly they seemed happy at their job. Overall, the place is clean, with various tables and booths to choose from. Yes, flat screen TV for the Soccer fans. Although it was busy during lunch, we found a table and we enjoyed the background music that was not loud we were able to carried a conversation.. We ordered the the Ensenada, style fish taco and shrimp taco, which is lightly breaded and fried, served with cabbage, pico de gallo, with their signature cream and can't forget their Famous chiles Gueritos. Yeah, you know they are hot and spicy! The tacos were so tasty, so much flavor and for that price we can add a Corona beer. * Fish Taco $1.99 * Shrimp Taco $2.99 * Corona beer $3.50 For the above reasons, I will definitely return to Taco Nazo, and I will reccommend to friends and family..

The food at all locations are great and you usually get it fairly quickly. But for whatever reason this location seems to take far longer the others. I had my usual cocktail (shrimp and octopus) with a fish taco, but I also got guacamole and chips. This was probably the most plain guacamole I've ever eaten and wouldn't recommend it.

  • Christopher H.

Not a big fan. The service was subpar. Nothing special or out of the ordinary for restaurants. The food is horrible. I've tried a few things and for the timexvaluexfood equation i will begin to implement... This is negative. Carne Asada Burro. Over-salted, ketchup based orange rice that put too much sour cream when asked for no sour scream. Grilled Fish Burro. Puny fish size, after two bites, no more fish, this burro essentially, by sheer ingredients became a taco bell seven layer burrito. The chile/salsa bar sucks. Don't know how else to say it... I noticed this place is a hit or miss for the locals here. When i refer to local, i don't mean people on Yelplandia, just folks I know, interact and conduct mutual affairs with within the community. Unless we have similar palates, don't take my word for it. I hate to portray this establishment in the likes of crappy Pepper Shakers. They do not deserve that.

Biweekly dinner with my sister (who knew as adults we'd eventually learn to like each other?). We decided Mexican so I pulled up Yelp and scrolled through the availables. She mentioned liking El Taco Nazo so it was our pick for the night. Now...I love me some cheap Mexican food. GOOD cheap Mexican food. And this rated right up there. While the menu didn't appear overly extensive - mostly tacos, burritos, and many shrimp/fish/seafood options - their prices are reasonable. I had the 3 taco combo. For the uninitiated, these are soft tacos. True Mexican-style tacos. With meat and salsa and onions and some lettuce. I had two chicken and one carnitas. The chicken ones were very good. The carnitas one was okay; the meat was dry. Since it was roughly 6:30pm I thought it could have been a little better. I also got chips, rice, and refried beans with the meal. Combo plate. The rice was a little on the dry side, the beans uneventful (there was cheese sprinkled on top) and the chips...how the heck do they get so many in that little bag? I wish I'd ordered guacamole or gotten some salsa to go with the chips. So all that plus a smallish medium drink and it came to 9 dollars and change. Not bad at all. The lady behind the counter was very nice and friendly. She switched between Spanish and English easily and seemed pleased that we had chosen their restaurant. There is plenty of seating and a very nice salsa/sauce station. The downside was having to hunt for plasticware (it's at the above mentioned salsa/sauce station) and that the music was about one notch too loud. Otherwise, the food was tasty, the price was right, and the service was fine (self pickup). I think this will become another option for Mexican night.

Light, crispy yet rich in flavor. Taco Nazo really puts out consistently delicious fish and shrimp tacos. These are so reminiscent of the ones I fell in love with in Baja. Simply dressed with cabbage, crema, and pico de gallo. Splash some lime juice, take bite of chile, and then a bite of the taco...dang it, I should've ordered one more.

Ate here 3 days in a row! Yeah! The fish tacos are sooo yummy. And the potato tacos are really good too. Order some tacos, sit down with a corona and pretend you are in Mexico. =) I'd give them 5 stars but the places isn't very clean. The worker had arm in the horchata tub to scrape up the gunk in the bottom. She did wear a glove but wasn't long enough and her hairy arms were horchata coated. So gross. And avoid the bathroom if you can... nasty.

Taco Nazo has really good Ensendada style fish tacos. And it's only $1.65 for a fish taco! The fish filets are well seasoned and battered just right. They're crispy and flaky. The cabbage the taco is topped with is always fresh. And most importantly, the salsa bar is always kept clean. I usually get two fish tacos, and that's enough to fill me right up because they're a good size. With each order of tacos, they give you these roasted yellow chiles dipped in a lemon pepper seasoning. Oh man, that chile is so tasty and not spicy at all.

FDA Rules apparently mean nothing to the leadership at this restaurant! My wife and I came here this evening to see what others have praised as "excellent fish tacos". All was good (tacos were delicious) until I went to the men's room to find horrible conditions. There were no paper towels for employees to dry their hands. The trash and unkempt conditions were disgusting! I left the restroom (with wet hands) to inform one of the employees of the paper towel issue. As I stood at the "pick-up" window, I noticed some conditions in the kitchen and food prep area that were even worse than the restroom! I have a video to upload showing the compliance deficiencies, if the leadership cares to see what is happening ~ Trash overflowing with no cover on the trash container. Cleaning tools stored next to and in contact with food containers. Food ingredient container on the floor while employee was prepping food. The supervisor (blue shirt) brushed back her hair with the same hand she used to prep food. She was also wearing large dangling earrings. The girl I spoke to was also assembling the plates to be picked up. She was wearing only one glove. Her other hand (sans glove) had an exposed Band-Aid. Other meal prep employees can be seen not wearing any gloves. I'm sure if I spent a little more time, I would have found more serious (eminent contamination) issues and conditions. Instead we left and will not be back. Restaurant Grade Cleanliness, HACCP and other FDA compliance = "D- / F"

Best fish tacos hands down. Well worth the drive from Cypress to bellflower area. I ordered the 6 fish taco pack for my parents and myself and the 3 of us couldn't even finish all 6. Plus I tried the potato taco which was very good and filling. This is my fish taco go to from now on.

I tried their specialty - fish burrito $5.99 and a carne asada taco $1.25. the burrito was so good with big pieces of battered fried fish in it. so good! and the carne asada taco... good portion of meat and great flavor. no wonder they are busy! definitely coming back to try other dishes....the fish taco!

Eats: Fish Taco Combo (comes with 2 fish tacos, chips, and their famous chili relleno) Takes: Hands down, delicious fish tacos! I really only come here for those. The batter is light and golden brown. Eat it with their salsa and pickled veggies, and you have a winner! Super fresh! Service: Employees are welcoming. They do only start making your order when you order it so there's a bit of a wait. Price: Fish Taco Combo came out to less than $6. Location: At the intersection of La Habra Blvd and Beach Blvd (near the La Habra Costco) Parking: Private lot. I've never had an issue finding a spot. Bottom line: Go here for your fish taco fix! Highly recommended.

Yeeeeeouch!! Easily one of the WORST fish tacos I've ever had! Which is sad since they claim to have "the best in the world".... whatever "world" that may be!! First and foremost the fish was not fresh, its smelled old and mandated a return to the kitchen, something we did immediately after the first bite. When I brought it back to the register, a lady in the back insisted it was fresh to which I said "Have you SMELLED mine?!" Nevertheless they did exchange the offending tacos for their "okay" carnitas. Did I have a bad batch? Maybe. Will I be going back? Probably never. Sorry.

Tiny place, really good tacos and usually I hate corn tacos, I always get the taco plate with rice and beans it's always very good with friendly service, needs more choices for salsa though.

I was introduced to Taco Nazo by a friend and finally went in to try it. I always passed by it but I never gave it a second thought. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical because I am spoiled with good mexican food in San Diego :P Taco Nazo is famous for their fish tacos, but I'm not a big fan of fish tacos so I tried the shrimp instead. I'm not sure about the fish, but I've had better shrimp tacos. The shrimp seemed to be fried and battered into one long, oblong shape which means not enough shrimp taste and too much batter. But the overall taste of the taco= thumbs up. The taco is pretty stuffed with its fillings and the white sauce on top is MUY BIEN! Their horchata was also really good. With your order, you also get these grilled yellow chile peppers that are seasoned with salt and pepper. They are soo good! But let me warn you, do not be fooled by their innocent yellow color and benign exterior. These peppers will put your taste buds on FIYAH! It's a sad struggle between "I want to eat more!" vs. "I can't eat anymore!" My fat self decided to eat more and then I ended up downing my horchata... The La Habra branch is very clean and nicely decorated. The bathrooms are also very clean, which is a plus. The only downside is they don't seem to have a variety of sauces... I always thought Taco Nazo was Korean-owned because Nazo (pronounced 'na jo') means "give me" in Korean. Taco Nazo = Give Me Taco!! :)

Fish taco are the bomb. This place is bigger than the one I usually go to in Cerritos. They have a couple of big screen TVs and the place was clean. The Food, really good. Aside from the fish taco, tried the Al Pastor taco and my wife has a new favorite, me too well, fish tacos are still the best.

I really like this restaurant! The first time I ate here I was given a delish fish taco - for free! While I was waiting for my burrito one of the cashiers just gave me a taco. And then I was hooked. They aren't kidding when they say that they have the best fish tacos in town, they do! there are 2 kinds of tacos, one is shrimp. And the other is breaded fish. I used to order their burritos, but now I eat their fish tacos with beans and rice side. I'm hoping that eventually they'll create a breakfast menu. As I love huevos rancheros. It's a bit loud inside, as they have 2 t.v.'s going.

I just discovered another great place to go for pescado tacos. And who would have thought I'd find it a little more than a doorstep away from where I live! This is as close as it gets to the stuff I've had in Ensenada. They have an good selection of other meats as well (beef, chicken, pork, shrimp) for all their tacos and burritos. Quality ingredients but the prices are still a little high for what you get. I also thought the carne asada was too salty and you don't get a lot of the shrimp. Stick with the fish! Otherwise, 3 stars overrall.

Just like I remember the tacos tasting in Rosarito and Ensenada. Close to home, served fast and good food.

Oh yeah, baby! Took my first bite of the shrimp cocktail and & daaaang, I WAS IN LOVE. It was an explosion of flavor right there in my mouth... totally unexpected! Medium sized shrimp which was plump and plentiful combined with the freshness of the tomato, avocado, and onions was perfection! I also had a fish and shrimp taco. They were both good but if I had to pick one, it'd be the shrimp! I like alot of lime to enhance the flavor. Tip: the tortillas are filling so take one off so you can save room for more.. Oh, and if you're a lover of all things spicy, you're gonna love the grilled jalapenos.. They don't just grill, they marinade it in salt and lime so the end result is just a combination of flavors that make you salivate. I'm drooling just writing about this. Just wish it was closer to me in LA :(

Based on all the raving reviews.... I was expecting this place to be orgasmic. Suffice it to say.... It was NOT. I ordered 1 fish taco and 1 shrimp taco. Both were decent. Nothing to write home about. Niether one was all that flavorful even the "white sauce" had no taste.... Both tacos just tasted like breaded, fried seafood. Not sure what all the hype is about.... bummer

I just realized why there so many reviews, but not a single photo, because the food is so good, you forget to take a picture of it! I think everything is been pretty much said about their fish tacos. I just want to add that their carne asada burritos & tacos are good too. Their carne asada doesn't swim in fat when you bite into their burritos. I also like their pastor tacos also. Oh yea, just a little 411. During "Fish Fridays", this place is super busy. I would recommend to call in your order and take it to go, or you could just eat your food in your car if you can't find a seat inside. The complimentary roasted yellow gueritos (peppers) is a must for every meal. I tear down at least four of those every time I'm there.

**Edit** Their shrimp tacos are pretty freaking amazing too!!!! **End Edit** Just ate here today after a few years, and the fish tacos are still the best I've ever had. Seriously, hands down, the best fish tacos. Ever. Gotta try them out! Walked to the 7-11 behind it and even got some dessert...

Taco Nazo has some of the best fish tacos that I have ever eaten. Fresh, crunchy and savory. The potato tacos are a good change up with the shrimp tacos and you have it covered. Chip, salsa and guac are good as well and just a solid choice for a meal if you are on the fence on where to go!

We decided to come here last Friday (03/30/12) and seeing as it is Lent season, of course it was packed. We expected a long wait time and we didn't mind because we have been here before and everything was pretty good. We made our order and we had to wait for a table because, as I said, it was packed.. and... we didn't mind. Once there was a free table, we sat down and continued waiting for our order. After my hubby and girls were sitting, I stood up and walked to the salsa bar. My plan was to get the "chiles gueritos", limes, salsas, napkins, and a few forks. When I got there I saw that they didn't have the chiles gueritos there which was weird, and they didn't even have the container that held them before. I look up at the menu and guess what? They now charge for them. WHAT?!? Oh well... So I grabbed 2 containers of roasted salsa, LEMONS because they had no limes, and pickled carrots. The salsa was blah, the lemons were cut horrendously, and the carrots were boiled, not pickled... they had absolutely no vinegar, no salt, no flavor. The fish tacos are quite messy, I need about 10 of their flimsy napkins to keep my hands clean. I think they would spend less on them if they carried better quality napkins, The tacos were decent, NOT the best tacos in the world, they used to be way better. And to my surprise they provide you with ONE chile guerito with your order. Wow. Also they leave you with a REALLY greasy mouth... not good, so squeeze some lime, or in this case, lemon in your mouth before you leave. In conclusion.. their quality has gone WAY down in the past couple (and I do mean 2) of years.

Yes if you are looking for one of the best fish tacos you have come to the right place. Each time I have eaten here I have never left not been happy and full. They have a good spread and choice of food the roasted chilies are so tasty and they come with the meal you order along with some great tasty chips. They have TV and some jamming musica going on while you dine in. The street tacos are good along with the Bean and cheese burrito which is a good size burrito which I think they give a good size potion on all their food (mind you I hate beans yet I can eat their beans always they are so good) Customer service has been off and on I think maybe more on then off at times. As one Yelper said the soda machine is a good plus my soda always tastes refreshing I don't know what they do different from other places but when I come here I always have to get my soda pop with my meal. There is plenty of seating for everyone. There are more chairs and tables than booths but they are not all crowded together like other restaurants you go to. So trust me when I say if you want to take some one to a place that makes a kick butt fish taco bring them here they will love you forever.

OHHH YEAAAA! El taco nazo really has the best fish tacos. Eff rubios! My church was right next to this place and my best friend and I would ALWAYS come here to get our fish taco fix. I love how the fish is so freaking crisp and then you add that cilantro mix and hot sauce..AHHH EFFING ORGASMIC! I really haven't tried anything else on their menu but why should I when their fish tacos are so bomb!

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
